Prayer Letter (2002) and Financial
Needs
Rector of the Warsaw Baptist Theological Seminary
After a very intensive summer during which we organized a lot of events for
different church and mission groups, we have now finished the sport field project.
On September 3d we happily started the new academic year 2002/2003 at Warsaw
Baptist Theological Seminary. This year at WBST there are 90 students altogether,
including full and part time students and participants of the Catechetic Institute.
We are very encouraged by their enthusiasm,
testimony and involvement in mission. Our graduates bring us a lot of joy especially
when we see their practical involvement in specific ministry for the Lord.
The achievements of our lecturers are also very important to the seminary.
Their educational publications are the joint work compiled in "The Baptist
Theological Review". It is an official magazine of WBST - issued for the
first time this September.
We now begin to see the fulfillment of our desire to keep a balance in the
work of the Seminary, achieving our four basic goals: spiritual maturity, educational
advancement, evangelical mission and practical ministry in the church.
In the area of evangelical mission involvement, alongside our Timothy program,
this year for the first time we have prepared a Bible education program for
newly established churches empowering them to reach their communities with
the Gospel. The first series of teaching in this new Community Bible Institute
will be held in Olsztyn, and some of the lectures, we hope, will take place
in the newly established University of Warmia and Mazury. We pray that this
program will not only make believers stronger in their faith, but also mean
that the Name of our Savior will be made known to an increasingly wide circle.
In all these activities of the Seminary we kindly ask for your prayers and
financial support. The need is even bigger this year. We are about to finish
the building projects. It must be remembered that WBST is one of the few theological
schools, which doesn't offer free
studies. We have The Timothy program, through which we support our students
involved in mission, but the funds are limited. Therefore we are looking for
forms of financial support for the young people studying in WBST. This is why
we have established The Tent-making program. Its goal is to help the students
financially and to make progress in the work at our Center in Radosc. Money
in this fund will cover payment for the work of those students who need to
earn money working in the Center.
Being thankful deeply for the help already received we are really counting
on your understanding, prayer and financial support, all of which are essential
in our ministry for the Gospel here.
Wishing you God's blessing and guidance each day,
Yours in Christ
Rev. Gustaw Cieslar
