The “Student Group” has two aims. One aim is to build a strong community among students and staff
members. Students build this fellowship through social (non-academic) events, which enables staff and students, both full-time and part-time as well as members of various institutions that study in the
Seminary, to meet in a relaxed atmosphere. Another aim is to build links with the local non-church going
community. Science Society of Seminary Students always invites
non-Christian friends and people who live in the neighbourhood to our activities.
Their “Film Nights” for example have always been popular.
However our “Student Group” had for many years a huge problem. They have never had a space in the seminary which we could use for the hub of our
activities. The meetings have always had to be in classrooms. Recently the board of directors of the
Seminary have given us the use of one room. The “Student’s Group” aims to refurbish this as a lounge, where students can relax in a
non-academic atmosphere, and a “Coffee Bar” which will provide a place for non-Church goers to relax and meet us. There is a lot of work, that
they have already started on. The room that they have been given was unused for a number of years and there needs to be a lot of renovation, repainting and refurbishing.
The purpose of this letter is to let you know about the aims and work of the “Student’s Group”.
We would appreciate it if you could pray for us as we build closer fellowship among the different groups that work in the
Seminary, and also as we reach out to the local community. The “Student’s Group” is more than willing to carry out the work in rennovating and running the “Coffee Bar” and lounge, however there are financial limitations that, as students, we cannot reach. If there is any way that you could help with the important ministry that the “Student’s Group” has, or if you want more information about what we do please contact me at lutherking@poczta.onet.pl
or with the Director of Seminary.
