Dear Friends,
After a very busy summer we are now looking forward to the new academic
year which looks very promising with a new group of students joining those
already studying with us. As the year begins, we are so thankful once
again for God's leading and your prayers and support without which we
would not be able to carry out our mission of preparing God's people for
service so that the body of Christ may be built up
(Eph. 4,12).
I would like to share a few
exciting things with you:
" During the summer our workers and students with the help of our
friends from USA and Great Britain were leading several projects like
a VBS, an English Camp, a Youth Camp, a Seniors' Camp, a Medical Conference
and some construction work. We are very thankful for this world-class
Christian service, for our fellow-workers' dedication and their willingness
to labor with us. Especially this year, we are very thankful for the many
decisions to follow Christ.
As you begin to plan your next year, I would like to invite you or a group
from your
church to come and work with us here in Poland. We would be happy to give
you
more details if you are interested. We are particularly looking for a
new teacher in the
School of English - one trained to teach English as a foreign language
and who has a
heart for mission.
" The Barnabas Project (to support students in pastoral situations
while studying), that we mentioned in our last letter, is programmed to
start as soon as we have sufficient funds. This will benefit both students
and churches that have no pastoral oversight and we are looking forward
to its implementation.
" Thank you for praying and donating towards the scholarships for
full-time students. We were aiming for 15 scholarship ($3,000 each) and
I am very pleased to let you know that we already have 10 of them. I hope
that as we start the new academic year in October we will reach our goal.
We don't want to turn away any student because they cannot afford the
cost of study. We are deeply grateful to our friend Dr and Mrs. M.A. Winchester
for opening this Warsaw Baptist Theological Seminary Scholarship Fund
#886 at The Kentucky Baptist Foundation.
" Finally, I have decided to start a Leadership Development Program
CEL ( C - Christ-centric, E - evangelistic and educational, L - leading
to quality leadership) which I have been planning for a number of years.
I have invited about 10 young leaders, mostly but not only our graduates,
and plan to invest and help in their lives and ministry for the coming
three years. Please pray for this. I believe that the Lord who created
this desire in my heart will enable me to carry out this program with
His help.
" We are thankful for God's provision of our own extensive campus
with all its facilities. If you haven't had a chance to stop by, you have
an open invitation to do so at any time. We are planning the dedication
service of the newly finish chapel on 12th. October. You are very welcome
to this event. We are grateful to all who have helped us to finish this
project; to name everyone in this letter would be impossible but I will
make sure that all the names are remembered. The new auditorium will serve
for our own students, for the local church and for large conferences like
the European Baptist Federation meetings this fall which we have the privilege
of hosting this time.
If you feel that the Lord is directing you to be involved in our ministry
by praying or contributing financially to it, please let me know.
Yours in Christ,
Gustaw Cieslar, Rector WBST
